Saxtead Windmill, Suffolk, England
The mill at Saxstead in Suffolk, England, dates back to the 13th or 15th century (depending on the source of information). It is a 'Post Mill' where the heavy circular base remains stationary while the wooden upper part turns sot hat the sails can take full advantage of the wind. It ceased grinding corn in 1947 and is now maintained by English Heritage. It may be visited by the public.
