Pouting are not generally eaten in the UK but if kept chilled and eaten promptly can make a good meal. They are a fairly small fish and similar to the poor cod, Trisopterus minutus, but can be identified by the black mark at the base of the pectoral fin that the poor cod lacks. They are also known as pout, pout whiting and bib. Photographed on a natural stone background. Dorset England UK GB.
