Roman Egyptian plaster funerary Mask, 100 - 150 AD, Akhmim Panopolis. Louvre Museum AF 2128. Portrait mummy. A fragment of gold leaf preserved inside the right ear of this mask suggests that originally the face was golden. A hollow was arranged between the crown of hair and the frontal part of the hairstyle, perhaps to receive a carton of flowers. Painted plaster on fabric. Height: 28 cm; Width: 19 cm; Depth: cm. Denon room 183.
