Adult.—Top of the head, sides of the face and throat bare, except for a few scattered bristles and feathers in front of the eye ; the feathers commencing on the occiput and continuing down the back of the neck, those on the occiput lanceolate and erect forming a ruff; general colour throughout a dirty white slightly tinged, especially on the neck, with pale rufous; winglet.
