Gloxinias are mostly raised from seeds, and begin to bloom in from six to eight months after the seeds are sown. The young plants are very small, and require some care, but aside from this they are as easily and successfully treated as a Begonia. Use sifted porous soil, firm well and sow in pressed rows, uncovered. Keep the soil constantly moist, but not wet. My seeds were saved only from the beautiful, large-flowered, exquisitely colored and varie- gated sorts, and can be depended upon to yield magnificent flowers.
