Here is one of the most beautiful of annuals, as large and showy as a Petun- ia, but much more delicate, graceful and beautiful. It is an improved S?lpi- glossis, bearing very large trumpet-like fiowers, the rich purple, bronze and violet colors distinctly and artistically penciled with gold in the most striking manner, as indicated in the engra\ing. The plants grow two to three feet high, and bear their lovely flowers throughout the summer and autumn. Sow the seeds in a box or seed-bed and set the plants eight or ten inches apart, in a deep, rich soil and partially shaded place, or mulch the soil with fine stable litter if fully exposed. Do not omit this superb annual from 5-our list. It is one of the most pleasing we have. Price, 4 pkts. 10 cts., one pkt. 3 ^ The New Giant Browallia. Price, 4 pkts. lo cts., i pkt. 3 cts. During my European trip one of the most attractive new flowers I saw was the new Giant Browallia at the gardens of Vilmorin in France. Here an entire green- house was filled with the plants, all in full bloom, showy and beautiful. The plant is rather trailing in habit, grows and blooms freely, and is considered a first-class winter blooming pot plant for the window garden, blooming almost uninterruptedly under very ordinary treatment. The flowers are twice as large as those of Browallia elata grandiflora, and are of a very pleasing blue color A plant in full bloom m a window cannot fail to elicit the admiration and praise of all who see it. The seeds require about the same cire as those of the Chinese Primrose. Avoid watering too freely, and keep the soil loose, as the young plants are tender and liable to damp off. Price, 4 pkts. 10 cents, 1 pkt. 3 Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readab
