Excelsa in its more robust, but at the same time more compact growth, producing even a more sym- metrical plant than Excelsa ; the color is a rich deep green. Strong plants, in 5-inch pots, 10 inches high, $ each ; 6-inch pots, 12 inches high, $2 GO each ; 7 inch pots, 15 inches high, $ each. Imbricata {The Afoikey Puzzle). An interesting species with heavy strong branches of curious formation, which on account of the prickly nature of the leaves would puzzle even a monkey to climb the tree—hence the common name. The plant is hardy in the Southern States; it is not suit- able as a house plant, but forms an interesting object for the lawn in summer, and may be wintered in a cold greenhouse.
