On JNIarch 29, 1903, the State of Pennsyl-vania awarded to Wilson a gold medal bear-ing this inscription: In recognition of hisImportant and Delicate Service as MilitaryTelegraph Operator and Scout during theRaids and Invasions into the State, 1862-3and 4. The same Act gave him a commissionas colonel of Pennsylvania volunteers. ColonelWilson is the only member of the Civil WarMilitary Telegraph Corps who to-day holdsa commission, all other officers in that corps hav-ing
