Aberystwyth Wales UK, Monday 30 December 2013 At dusk on New Years Eve, and with the winds again growing in strength as another storm system hits the UK, a ‘murmuration’ of tens of thousands of starlings come in to roost on the cast iron legs of the Victorian seaside pier at Aberystwyth, on the west wales coast of Wales. Every evening between October an March the birds fly in to settle under the pier at night, in one of only three urban starling roosts in the UK. photo ©keith morris
