T-shaped & rectangular doorways on the ground floor of the SE roomblock of Pueblo Bonito multi-storey Anasazi great house, Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Largest and best known of the Great Houses in Chaco Canyon, considered the type site for the Classic Bonito Phase (AD1020-1120) of Chacoan Culture. The masonry style is Type III, and the end of a ponderosa pine viga (roof timber) is visible top L. T-doors are unusual: of the 32 remaining at Pueblo Bonito, most are exterior exterior doors facing kiva courts. One suggestion is that they were designed to ease the carrying of firewood bundles.
