Dozens of protesters gathered for a rally outside City Hall prior to a consultation surrounding plans to deploy water cannons at street protests whetre crowd control is likely to be difficult for the police. The rally was addressed by Dietrich Wagner, a German protester who was blinded by a police water cannon during a protest in Stuttgardt. Also addressing the crowd was the Green Party's Jenny
