This installation was preceded by a test of a group of projectorssufficient to light a 10° zone across from the Ontario Power Company generatingstation. This served as a check on previous calculations. A spray test was alsomade on competitive projectors on the roof of the Laboratory Building to determinethe effect of the ventilation provisions on the entrance of spray into the Laboratory is prepared, at any time, to make tests of lighting installa-tions of any class and to test any kind of material entering into Main Work Bench. An oil test in progress.—Chemical Laboratory. Photographic Laboratory The work of this section of the laboratories has increased in volume duringthe past year. Over 600 orders were received for developing and printing ofexposures made in the field by the Engineering Staff. The construction work at Niagara Falls necessitated monthly trips by thephotographer, in order to obtain a satisfactory progress record of the NiagaraPower Development and the Ontario Power Company Extension. Over 1,100pictures have been taken since the first of the year. These have been indexed andfiled. Official photographs were also taken of the extension of the generatingstation at Big Chute on the Severn River. In view of the great increase in the amount of blue printing required byall departments a blue printing machine has been installed in the Laboratories andthis Laboratory is now taking care of the blue printing for all departments of theCommission. 1920 HYDRO-ELECT
