About 1 M. to the N. of the pier is situated the royal chateau ofBerg (adm. 50 pf.), with a beautiful park, where King Lewis II. of Bavariaperished in the lake in June, 1886. The road to it passes through theneat little village of Leoni and then enters the park and skirts the spot where the bodies of the King and Dr. von Gudden were found inthe lake is indicated by a wooden cross.
