US BATTLE TRAINING AREA, DEVON, ENGLAND, UK, SEPTEMBER 1944 - Civil Defence Deputy Leader Ernest Callaway glazes new windows in any empty room, probably in Torcross Post Office, Torcross, on Slapton Sands in Devon. Ernest comes from Redruth in Cornwall. Behind him on the wall can be seen three posters of 'pin-ups' from 'Yank' magazine. The windows are to replace those damaged by the US Army during training carried out in preparation for the D-Day Landings
