Thirty-nine specimens of this species, ranging in length from to inches long, were taken at stations 4198, 4236, 4238, 4251. 4255. The color in all the large specimens is uniform and the bars are lacking; in the medium-size ones the bars are very faint; some of the small ones are nearly plain, others distinctly barred.
