Ridesharing motorbike riders wait for passengers in Dhaka. Unemployment is rising day by day in Bangladesh. The number of unemployed people in the country rose by lakh in the first quarter of the current year. The overall number of unemployed people stood at lakh in the January-March period, according to the first-ever quarterly data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in the capital. The number of unemployed people was lakh until December 2022, according to key findings of the BBS labour force survey 2022 released in April.
