Prison of Duke John, son of Gustav I, at Gripsholm, following Erik's deposition, from 'Teckningar efter Naturen Sverige Interiuer och Exteriuer', published (colour litho). Teckningar efter Naturen Sverige Interiuer och Exteriuer' contained a series of lithographs of imagined scenes from history that took place in royal castles; here we see a rendering of Duke John (1537-92) imprisoned; he would eventually become the King of Sweden in 1568 until his death.
