Metatarsal bones (centre right) link the phalanges to the mid-foot bones (centre left), which include the cuneiform and navicular bones. These are then attached to the tarsal bones, including the calcaneus bone (heel, far left). These bones articulate with the lower leg bones (top left) to form the ankle. Screws (white, bottom) are seeninside a board or tile that the foot is standing on.
