The armature of this motor had been changedwhen the motor was overhauled and a newly-rewoundarmature had been installed. The flat spot was re-moved by turning the commutator down and the arma-ture was again put back into the motor and the car wasreturned to service. After two weeks time the caragain came into the shop with a bad flat spot whichcovered from five to six bars of the commutator. As itseemed probable that a mistake had been made in wind-ing the armature this was removed and the original
