Jativa (Xativa), province of Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain. Castle. Torre Redonda (Torre Redona) in Castillo Mayor (Castell Nou). This fortress is divided into two zones, Castillo Menor (Castell Vell), pre-Roman, Iberian and Carthaginian origins, and the other one called Castillo Mayor (Castell Nou), a Latin foundation. It had strategic location near the Via Augusta, the Roman road. In the 15th century the castle became a state prison of the Crown of Aragon.
