A few dozen fans, the first arriving just after 11 am queued outside Waterstones in Piccadilly for film scriptwriter, producer and director JJ Abrams' book signing. At the head of the queue was a "Bad Robot" character who posed for pictures with passing tourists. JJ Abrams is to direct the forthcoming Star Wars Episode VII and has been holding open casting sessions in the UK in a bid to attract new talent to the series.
