Aberfeldy, Scotland, United Kingdom. Statue atop the Black Watch Memorial dedicated to the 'Highland Watch' or independent gurad regiments formed following 1667 to secure piece among Scottish tribal chieftians. The memorial, created in 1887, sits near the site where the original muster of the Black Watch occurred. The Black Watch was the last British military unit to leave Hong Kong in 1997, and it played a prominent role in the handover ceremony. The regiment also assumed prominent roles in both World War I and II.
