Restoration of palate. for positive identification or meaningful description. A small, symmetrical plate of bone adjacent to the fourth cervical is the supraoccipital. It is exposed in an- terior view in the ventral block, and posteriorly in the dorsal. Its configuration resembles that of Euparkeria, but it was not as solidly integrated into the skull roof. The occipital surface as a whole probably resembled that of Youngina, but the elements are not well enough known to attempt a restoration. The bones of the otic capsule are well ossified, but disarticulated, and their original orientation is difficult to establish. Both prootics can be seen in the area of the transverse flange of the pterygoids. They are heavily ossified bones, showing a groove for the passage of one or more branches of the fifth Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Churcher, C.
