Down at the extreme southof this area (see the map), on the westerly border ofthe Drive, nearly opposite Eighty-seventh Street, youwill see a pretty clump of the day lily {Hemerocallisfulva), which blooms in late July or early Augustwith orange-hued flowers. You can readily recognizeit by its leaves which, bending and lance-like, makeyou think of thick sedge grass.
