The maiden name of thedoctoi-s mother was Arabella Knox. the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. A. , of Niles, Mich. The family on boththe father and mothers sides is of early NewEngland colonial ancestry, many membersbeing cons])icuous for their services iu thecolonial wars and in the Revolutionary strug-gle.
