Concentrations and attenuation gradients in the deep ground- water system for both iron and manganese are considerably less than in the shallow ground-water system which suggests a very limited AMD input to the deep system. This conclusion is supported by sulfate and TDS concentrations which were clearly elevated above background levels only at wf^ll C-l-D. No deep wells exhibited lead values above the mg/L detection limit. The highest wetland aluminum values from deep wells were found at sites AA-2 and B-2 with maximums of and 83.
