A striking example of late 19th Century Peranakan or Straits Chinese architecture, these classic terraced town houses in Singapore's historic Joo Chiat District are unique for their original louvered shutters and ornate moldings or carvings. They would have been home at the turn of the 19th Century to a rich local Towkay, or businessman and his family. Lovingly restored, they are one of the most distinctive examples of Peranakan architecture in the area.
