Exterior of the New Mexico State Capitol. It is the only round capitol in the US and is informally known as "The Round House." The building was dedicated in December 1966. The building was designed by The building houses the New Maxico State Legislature. Architectureally it is a blend of territoial revival and neoclassical. Apart from viewing where the State is governed visitors have access to probably the best free art exhibition in the State. In 1991 the State founded the Capitol Art Foundation. On display is a huge and varied collection of art works mainly from artists who live and work in New Mexico.
