Type, Proboscis fully developed ; palpi uptunied, the 2nd joint reaching about to vertex of hctid and moderately fringed with hair, the ord moderate ; frons smooth; eyes large, round; antetmaj of male ciliated; thorax clothed with sciiles and hair mixed, the pro- and metathorax with spreading crests; tibite moderately fringed with hair; abdomen without crests. Fore wing with the apex somewhat produced and acute, the termen evenly curved and not crenulate ; veins 'S and 5 from near angle of cell; 6 from upper angle; 9 from 10 anastomosing with 8 to form the areole; 11 from cell. Hind wing witli veins 3, 4 from angle of cell; 5 obsolescent from middle of discocellulars ; 6, 7 from upper angle ; 8 anastomosing with the cell near base only. 3895. Strigiplilebia flavirena, n. sp. Head and thorax pale ochreous yellow ; palpi blackish except towards tips; metathoraeic ciest large, blackish; tibiie black at base, the mid and hind tibite with oblique black bars at extre- mities and the spurs banded with black; abdomen pale ochreous dorsall}- sufiuised with fuscous brown. Pore wing pale ochreous Yellow tinged with rufous except on costal area and irrotated with a few black scales, the termen deep rufous; the extremitj' of median nervure and veins 5, 4, 3 to subterminal line streaked with whitish and defined below by fine brown streaks ; subbasal line slight, brown, from costs to submedian fold; antemedial line.
