Galaxy cluster. Optical image of the Abell 2151 cluster of galaxies. This group of galaxies, also known as the Hercules cluster, is 500 million light years away from Earth in the constellation Hercules. It is a small irregular cluster of approximately 75 galaxies. It contains a number of interacting galaxies, such as the two spiral galaxies NGC 6050 and IC 1179 at centre right. The galaxies are close together and their gravitational fields interact, which may lead to changes in appearance and composition.
