Y., no one knows howmany years ago. After some years of work there began to reahze that Rochester, notwith-standing its prosperity and promise, did not offer abig enough field for his expanding ambition, and thus,looking for larger fields to conquer, he followed theadvice of Horace Greeley, Go West, young man, goWest, and went. In 1910 he reached Los Angeleswhere he met with instant success in his specialty—portraiture in the home. He soon found that hisbusiness was increasing to such an extent that theportable outfit had to be installed in a studio—wherethe mountain could come to Mohamet. So Mr. Wil-liams made for himself a home studio from his owndesigns and plans which now stands as one of theattractions of his adopted city, prominently located inthe best
