Doncaster January 2022: Artist/sculptor Laurence Edwards was commissioned to design the artwork witch now stands in the center of town Laurence met with local people from the mining community, while they told their stories he sculptured their portraits in wax, these have then been cast in bronze and are now an important of the rock faces. The main statue a 6ft bronze miner stood in between the two rock faces, symbolising travelling up the mineshaft after a shift. Clifford Norton Alamy
