Adult red-ruffed lemur (Varecia rubra). This lemur is one of the largest species of lemur and it inhabits the rainforest of eastern Madagascar. Living in the treetops, in small groups of 2-5, it has a deafening call that it uses in defence of its territory. A herbivore, it feeds mainly on fruit and leaves. Photographed in Madagascar.
