Kaiser Franz Josef's summer hunting lodge at Bergisel on the outskirts of Innsbruck provincial capitol of Tirol in Austria

This and other images are of the Tiroler Folks Museum at Bergisel in the suburbs of Innsbruck. The significance of this site is where Andreas Hofer led his Tirolean Militia Army against the combined armies of France, and Bavaria during the Napoleonic war of 1810. One hundred years later the hunting lodge was a favourite place of Emporer-Kaiser Franz Josef up until his death in 1916 due to old age and the ravages of the First World War that saw his beloved Habsburg Dynasty collapse and his country disintegrate.
