The King's heart. An engraving of the heart of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland. George II was born in 1683 and ascended the throne in 1727 on the death of his father, George I. George II died suddenly in 1760, a post-mortem examination showed the cause of death to be a ruptured aortic aneurysm. This engraving comes from the Gentleman's Magazine published in 1762.
