A cub plays hide and seek KENT, ENGLAND ADORABLE IMAGES show a lioness babysitting her cute six-week-old show the cubs playing hide and seek on their exhausted mum before trying some gentle face biting to wake their big sister up. The adolescent cub then proceeds to take care of her siblings and they both crawl between her paws to be cradled. Lion cubs are quick developers and start to walk at 10 to 15 days old. They also grow baby teeth while they are very young. Baby lions are totally dependent on their mothers for food and protection during the first few months. The lionesses will keep her cubs hidden from other lions for up to two months. After this time, she brings them out of hiding and introduces them to the rest of the pride. These images were captured by photographer Tom Jones (31) from Colchester, England at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, Kent, England. Tom photographed the lion family on his Canon 6D Mkii. ?The cubs obviously had some energy and they were running around through the bushes in opposite directions, somewhat to the dismay of their mother who was rounding them up,? said Tom. ?Eventually she dropped them with their older sisters Binti and Kulinda to watch over them. ?You never know what you are going to get when photographing cubs, never did I expect to get tender moments like this between young cubs and their older siblings. ?At first, I was surprised as I thought it was a lovely moment between mother and cub, it was only later that I realised it was the cub and their older sibling. ?People always love a fluffy lion cub but are always surprised to hear this is not their mother but an older sister with ENDS
