View N of Duddo Five Stones Bronze Age stone circle on the top of a large knoll NE of the River Till, Northumberland, England, UK. Five rough blocks of local sandstone, weathered & deeply grooved by the rain. Known in the 19th century as Four Stones, the fallen ENE stone was re-erected in the early 20th century. Around 1890 a central pit containing bone & charcoal was uncovered and two empty stone holes discovered in the gap at the NW of the ring. At least one of the stones bears prehistoric cupmarks.
