CO Ji SERVICE TESTS OF ELECTRIC CARS 39 The Car Body. The car body is one of the standard 21 foot semi-convertibletype of the St. Louis Car Company. Fig. 4 shows the generaldetail features of the car. The side sills are in two parts of yellow pine, the outer sills2J inches by 7 inches and the inner sills 5| inches by 7 inside side sills are made in two parts with a 7-inch Ibeam securely bolted between them. All posts and rails areof white oak. The corner posts are 3| inches by 6 inches, andthe side posts are 2^ inches. The platform sills are of 2^-inch white oak, and the middlesills are plated with steel plate J-inch by 5 inches.
