Jeanie Deans' Cottage, St Leonard's, Edinburgh, Scotland, 1886. Photograph from a Royal Family album in Osborne House, Isle of Wight. The character of Jeanie Deans was created by Sir Walter Scott in his novel Heart of Midlothian and, according to the story, she resided in this cottage. It was demolished in the 1960s.
