Hundreds of anti-Islamic, far right activists from the English Defence League protested outside Downing Street following the murder in Woolwich of Drummer Lee Rigby of the Fusiliers. The protesters were faced with a counter-demonstration by Unite Against Fascism, who accuse the EDL of being a fascit, racist organisation. A strong police presence managed to keep the two opposing groups apart.
