New varieties are constantly being produced from seed, some of them of exquisite beauty, and as this seed is un- usually choice, it may be expected to produce exceptionally fine results. In raising Dahlias from seed, they should be sown in pots and placed in a sunny window. Those having a hotbed, conservatory, or greenhouse, will of curse use them instead. The seed ought to be sown by the 1st of April, kept warm until the middle of May, and then planted on rich ground in a sunny spot; they will flower by the middle of August; of course, the seed can be sown earlier by those having the conveniences. 10 cents per paper. 6 for 50c. Single Dahlias. This strain is the result of the most careful at- tention and study for along period of years, and was raised for us by a celebrated Pansy grower in Belgium. By means of the most careful selection and treatment, the finest and newest sorts are produced, and consequently of extraordinary per- fection, as the endless variety and extremely rich, brilliant, and charming shades of color will con- vince you. The combinations of color in the same flower are ex- quisiteand wonderful, and so deli- cate that no description can con- vey any adequate idea of their beauty.
