For Captain Blandford is a real soldier andduring the time he has been in the service hehas won many honors of note. He attended the first officers training schoolat Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, and fol-lowing his work there was given the cc imissionof captain and assigned to Fort Riley, Kansas,but while on the train on the way to that pointhe received a telegram to return to Wheelingand a short time later was ordered to FortAugusta, Ga., where he was stationed for sometime, or until he was ordered to France forforeign service. Following his arrival in Europe he wasassigned to the French aviat on service andsoon became one of the countrys best aviatorsand pilots, with the result that he flew all overFrance and also paid a visi. to Belgium in hismachine.
