It grows about two feet [high, and is of vigorous - branching habit, maturing early and is very produc- tive The beans in a green state are not quite as large las the Large Lima,butgrow 'closer together in the pod, are thicker, sweeter, more tender and succulent, and remain green longer after maturing. This remarka- ble bean was distributed only to a limited extent last year, but has fully con- firmed our good opinion of its merits. Planted on May •30th, it matured August 24th, 10 days ahead of Dreer's Improved Pole Lima planted at the same time. The pods of the Bush variety were equally as large and full. Many of the pods contained 5 beans, and nearly one half contained 4 Many specimen plants were received last fall bearing from 100 to 185 pods. This bean should be planted in rows two feet apart, and the plants one foot apart in the row. One plant alone is sufficient to a hill. Per pkt., 20 cts ; 3 pkts., 50c; 7 pkts , HENDERSON'S BUSH LIMA. Three years ago the entire stock of this variety was growing on an obscure plantation in Virginia; to-day it will be found in almost every garden on this continent. This has been due to its great merit, which the public were quick to recognize as soon as it was brought to their attention. One of the most valuable characteris- tics of the Bush Lima Bean is its extreme Carliness, as it comes in from two to three weeks ahead of any of the climbing Limas.
