A German powder flask, circa 1580. The body is of polished staghorn with a finely engraved female figure (Fortuna?) in front of an architectural scene on the obverse side. The antler structure is preserved on the reverse side. Finely worked, gilded brass mountings. The spring and stopper lever are chiselled with grotesque masks. The top of the stopper is in the shape of a jingle bell. The bottom has feet in the shape of acorns. The belt clip on the reverse side is missing.
