VIIL Route 76. 425 of the Mur, 3 M. to the S., is the village of Weisskirchen; and4^2 M. to the is Fohnsdorf^ with extensive coal-mines, someof which are upwards of 800 deep. 4272 M. Judenburg (2380; ^Post or Krone, with carriages forhire; *Brand; Frank, with garden; *Danzmeyer^s Restaurant, atthe railway-station, with rooms), a very ancient town (4039 inhab.),once a Celtic settlement (/tiwnwm, from idun, a high hill), situatedon a height on the right bank of the Mur, at the foot oi the SeethalAlps, has been almost entirely rebuilt since a fire in 1841. In thePlatz is a fountain witli a large marble basin. Here, too, rises theRbmerihurm, erected in 1509, with its Gothic portal (fine viewfrom the top; 10 kr.). In front of the Jesuits Church rises a columnin memory of the plague, erected in 1717.
