Photograph 3947 taken on January 28, 1918, shows the event at Camp Lewis, where the boxing bout took place as a Red Cross benefit. The Davis brothers, Albie (6) and Jumbo (4), sons of Davis, Supt. Vancouver Island Athletic Ass'n, participated in the bout. Soldiers at the camp donated a total of $65, and the brothers' efforts for the Red Cross have raised over $4,000. The photograph was released to the Photo Division on February 12, 1918.
