"While various state universities are doing much to give men advanced train- ing in floriculture, education for women along that line is available only at pri- vate institutions. One of these, the School of Horticulture for Women, at Ambler, Pa., has issued announcement of its spring course from April 6 to June 26 and a brief summer course from August 2 to August 28. The spring course, in its morning and afternoon sessions, will take up on the different days of the week floriculture, vegetable gardening, fruit growing, school garden- ing, landscape gardening and similar subjects. Floriculture will occupy Sat- urday and, according to the announce- ment, the morning course deals with the propagation of annual and perennial flowers and the planting and care of summer beds and borders and the after- noon course deals with the culture of specific flowers, roses, carnations, sweet peas and other flowers. During the summer course, floriculture will come Monday and Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons. The tuition charge for the spring course in floriculture alone will be $23, for the entire course $75; board will be $10 per week and lodging $2 to $4 per week. The tuition fee for the entire summer course, including, in addition to floriculture, vegetable gardening, fruit growing and canning and preserving, will be $25; board and lodging will be $12 per week.
