He was for several years chairman of the Executive Committee of theRepublican State Central Committee and also for many years chairmanof the Executive Committee of the Worcester County Republican Com-mittee, and of the Congressional District Committee. He was electeda delegate from the Worcester Congressional District to the NationalRepublican Convention at Chicago in 1884.
