Hewas Court chapel-master at Torgau from 1525 to 1530, chapel-master to Moritz ofSaxony, of the Dresden Court Chapel. He published several collections of churchmusic, and his Geystlich-Buchleyn (Wittenberg, 1524) is said to be the first Protestantsinging-book. Born in 1496, he died at Torgau in G. SCHIRMER, INC.
