The city’s New Year’s Eve events are world famous and recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest New Years party. Before Covid-19 restrictions were enforced, 40,000 people took part in the Torchlight Procession, 75,000 attended the Concert in the Gardens with an estimated 100,000 watching the midnight fireworks display.
